Preview: Fool’s Gold at the Kool Haus on May 13th

LA-based Fool’s Gold released Leave No Trace last August, but they hadn’t made a Toronto appearance since the big release. That will change on Sunday when the band opens for Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros at the Kool Haus.

Fool’s Gold had a strong debut in 2009, while singing predominantly in Hebrew, and went from a large collective made up of 12-15 members to a tighter 5-piece. Now the band has focused more on English, but a variety of influences can certainly be heard in their sound. The synth-based new wave sound is the foundation, but there are hints at Caribbean and African sounds in their music as well. Their unique sound will certainly make an impression on listeners. We recommend you check them out.
