It’s December, which means it is officially holiday season. Beyond that, Audio Blood is celebrating their fourth anniversary by throwing a holiday rager on Friday, December 7th at Sneaky Dee’s. It might be cold and grey outside but this is an event hot enough to lure you out of your cozy abode and out into the frosty night.
Can you picture a Toronto music scene that doesn’t include Sari Delmar’s artist and brand development company? Starting as a small print zine back in 2006 before becoming a full-fledged marketing and publicity company in 2009, in just a few short years their roster of clients now boasts 25+ bands, extending their reach to both coasts. They also work with multiple brands and have handled media promotion for major music festivals including S.C.E.N.E and 2012’s EdgeFest. Rarely does a day go by that you don’t see one of their posters downtown, hear a song, or read about a show by one of the artists they represent. If there is a music festival going on somewhere in this country, they are probably at it, likely with an #ABDOES hashtag, temporary tattoos and a killer rooftop party in tow.
So come raise a glass to a company that has helped shape the Toronto music community these past few years. As luck would have it, the institution that is Sneaky Dee’s is also celebrating their 25th year, so what better place to throw such a party? And as always, AB have invited some of the best up-and-coming bands Canada has to offer right now, including:
- BC’s Acres of Lions, who pair Jimmy Eat World-esque vocals with lively guitar riffs that will have you too busy dancing to wax nostalgic over the 90’s;
- Ottawa’s Amos the Transparent, a rousing folk ensemble that will get you merrily singing along;
- Toronto’s indie experimental-folk darlings Hands & Teeth;
- and super-special guests Secret Connection from Newfoundland/Toronto, an energetic pop group that includes ex-members of Oh No Forest Fires.
Sponsored by Steam Whistle, the night also promises loot bags (remember when all birthday parties came with those?!) and many more surprises. Just $7 gets you in and doors are at 9:30. RSVP over on Facebook for all the details!
