The Sheepdogs’ Chance to Grace to Cover of Rolling Stone

Saskatoon’s The Sheepdogs have the chance to be on the cover of Rolling Stone. How rad is that?

Rolling Stone is running a contest called “Do You Wanna Be A Rock & Roll Star,” which has readers vote for bands by rating them. There are 16 finalists to choose from, after an extensive cut from over 1, 200 bands. The Sheepdogs are the only Canadians to have made it through, which is an amazing accomplishment. The winner will receive a recording deal with Atlantic Records, as well as a slot at Bonnaroo. The big announcement will be made on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, with a performance to boot. The cover is set to appear on the cover of the August 18th issue, which will be on newsstands August 5th.

We encourage you to show your Canadian pride and vote! Click here to vote and have a listen to a couple of their tunes while you’re there!

UPDATE: The Sheepdogs have made it to round 4 of 4, with only 2 left in the contest! This means they’ve got a Bonnaroo slot, but keep voting to get them that deal with Atlantic Records and on the cover of Rolling Stone!

Saw a CBC piece on them, but missed the name. Now I know. Thanks! Go The Sheepdogs.
