CBC Radio 3’s Searchlight 2011

WHOA! We made the top 30 for CBC Radio 3’s Searchlight 2011 for Best Music Website in Canada! THANK YOU!

I did this for the last round, but I figure an introduction to our blog may be necessary. Here’s a little bit about what we’ve been up to:

Since starting up in August, we’ve kept ourselves busy. We’ve bought shots for 40 bands/artists, totalling 130 shots, 2 bottles of Crown Royal, and 1 bottle of Jagermeister. We’ve presented 2 shows, covered 65 shows, plus an open house, a loft party and War Child’s Busking for Change.

[Sidenote: Please don’t do the math on the shots. We haven’t kept track and we’d prefer to not know any definitive numbers… 😉 ]

We’re so stoked but so surprised to have made the top 30. We’re still a new blog in comparison to most of the other nominees, so making the top 30 stunned us a bit. We’re super proud of some of our friends and fellow bloggers that have also made it to this round, but we’re also a little gutted about some of our favourite that didn’t. Nevertheless, we have been completely taken aback by all the love. It’s been such an amazing ride thus far.

We’d like to thank all the contributors, bands, publicists, promoters, other blogs/websites, and our friends for the support. We are continuously thanking you because we know we can’t do this without you.

Thank you so much to everyone who voted!! And thanks to everyone who has taken the time to check us out. We hope to help you find some music that you like because we’ve been so ecstatic with many of our finds.
