For the first time in its 13 years, The Independent Music Awards (a.k.a. The Indies) took place at the Kool Haus on March 22, 2013. While generally the evening is full of short sets, this evening was a little different for those that packed the Kool Haus. Diamond Rings closed out the awards portion of the night with an extended performance before Matt Mays and Metric took the stage to perform complete sets. For fans of Canadian music, there was a little something for everyone and it was a great night to embrace our homegrown talent.

RIP Jay Smith.
