CBC Radio 3 Searchlight 2011!

WOW! We made the top 60 for CBC Radio 3’s Searchlight 2011 for Best Music Website in Canada!

We are completely honoured that our humble little blog made the list alongside so many great Canadian music websites that we personally follow. We are so flattered to have been nominated in the first place. We really didn’t expect to make it this far, but we’re so glad people like what we’ve been doing. Thank you so much for voting for us!

For some of you this may be your first visit to the blog. Here’s a rundown of what we’ve been up to:

We only started up in August, but we’ve been quite busy since then. We’ve bought shots for 39 bands/artists, totaling 125 shots, 2 bottles of Crown Royal, and 1 bottle of Jagermeister. We’ve covered 64 shows, plus an open house, a loft party and War Child’s Busking for Change. Oh, and we’ve presented 2 shows too. Plus a whole slew of interviews and album reviews.

Thanks to all the contributors, bands, publicists, promoters, other blogs/websites, and our friends for the support. You all know who you are. We can’t do this without you.

And, of course, thanks to all of you for following us. We hope that you’ve discovered some fantastic new music through us. We’re always looking. It’s still really exciting for us when we get emails from bands we haven’t heard of yet and when we see opening bands that surprise us. We hope that excitement continues and grows.
