Band: The Barettas
7″: Touche
Shot of choice: jager
The Barettas is an all-female 3-piece based out of Hamilton comprised of Katie Bulley (vocals, guitar), Carly Killotta (drums, vocals) and Kate Kimberley (bass). These ladies pride themselves on their work ethic, having been influenced by blue collar Hamilton. They apply this to their music, but also work hard outside of their music in order to fund their passion. Well, their passion certainly shows, as tunes are well-crafted, catchy and Bulley possesses vocals worthy of your attention.
Their 7” teaser really is quite the tease. “Touche” is all sorts of catchy, full of sass and quite danceable. “Black Sheep” is no less catchy and encourages not only some hip shaking but also a hell of a lot of singing along. There is fire in Bulley’s vocals and these two songs certainly have my attention and leave me eager to check out what these ladies have up their sleeves next.
Their 7” single for “Touche” is available for free download (in exchange for your email address) on their Bandcamp. I highly recommend you check them out. Oh and their video for “Touche” can be found below.
